AMCON (26 October 2017) The inventor Thomas Alva Edison once said, ‘There's a way to do it bet-ter – find it!’ Individuality, as always, is the key to economic success, even for public and private transport companies. That’s why, from 6 to 8 March 2018, the software developer AMCON from Cloppenburg will present its expanded UFHO system at stand B2 during the international trade fair for IT trends and innovations in public transportation “IT-TRANS”, now being held for the sixth time in Karlsruhe.
Highlights from AMCON
One of the expanded UFHO system’s major highlights is the use of the IBIS Bluetooth adapter to control indoor and outdoor displays. Specially developed by ÖPNV-Service GmbH for this field of application, the Bluetooth/IBIS adapter, which operates standardized vehicle system interfaces and is truly a unique offering on the market, is used to control individual vehicle components. Sales data from the bus are transmitted via WLAN or mobile communications to the associated UFHO back-ground system in the AMCON cloud and the timetable data in the VDV452 standard is then pro-cessed by the tablet and visualized to the driver. A feature that was not available with tablet solu-tions until now. The devices can also be safely and ergonomically integrated into the driver’s dash-board area. Hardware independence enables various manufacturer tablets to be individually used and configured. The first IBIS Bluetooth adapter projects have already been in productive operation since the beginning of 2017.
New products at the trade fair stand
At the trade fair stand, visitors will have the opportunity to try out individual UFHO system compo-nents directly on a ticket vending machine built by krauth technology and experience the UFHO system’s intuitive usability for themselves. Another new feature made possible by the UFHO sys-tem is the messaging feature, which lets the control center get in touch with the driver. The driver can send standard texts created in the background system, meaning that he/she doesn’t have to enter any text himself/herself. If, for example, a route is blocked, a PDF file displaying detour op-tions can be sent directly by the control center. AMCON has also expanded its sales channels with an online shop that is fully integrated into the UFHO system.
As a provider of fare management systems, passenger information systems as well as communication systems for buses and trains, AMCON has been helping public and private transport companies to make public transport more attractive and efficient for many years now. More and more customers now rely on the know-how and the innovative software solutions from AMCON. The modular UFHO system is its main product.
AMCON products impresses with their state-of-the-art technology. Their modular structure and high degree of standardization allow them to be used autonomously or to be individually integrated into an intelligent end-to-end solution, all depending on the requirements of the transport companies. It’s also possible to expand systems in a step-by-step process. Further information is available at www.amcongmbh.de.
